Natural Disasters Fill Seers’ Calendar in 2012

by Rick Ackerman on May 18, 2010 12:01 am GMT · 52 comments

[Lately, Mother Earth has been angrier than we can ever recall. A friend of ours with a keen interest in the predictions of seers alerted us a few years ago to the prospect of a dramatic increase in seismic activity around now, so we were naturally eager to have him update the forecast. He has obliged with the grim predictions detailed below. Be warned that his outlook is not for the squeamish and that it suggests 2012 could be a year in which natural disasters impact hundreds of millions of lives around the planet. Incidentally, if you’d like to sample the eclectic range of Rick’s Picks commentary, we offer a free seven-day trial, including daily stock and futures recommendations.]

Rick has asked me to outline the impact of potential future geological events on the U.S. economy. I am not a geologist or an economist, (although I do have an eclectic university education background) – my own personal studies for the last several decades have included amongst other things various prophecies about future events from multiple sources around the world. I write this anonymously, and am writing it at Rick’s request. I am just putting it out there for your consideration – what you choose to do with this prophetic scenario, if anything, is up to you.

Italy's Mt. Vesuvius, considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world, could blow within the next 2 years, according to one forecast

Even the least observant amongst us is slowly becoming aware of a building ‘drumbeat’ of seismic events on our planet – that seem to be increasing in both frequency and magnitude and occurring in areas where we find significant populations. Recent large scale destructive events include the Indonesian tsunami; central China, Haiti, Chile and last week’s western China earthquakes and also the recent eruption of an Icelandic volcano. Combined, these major seismic events have cost hundreds of thousands of lives and billions in damages. The Icelandic volcano has so far just disrupted intercontinental air traffic, and so is negatively impacting the western developed economies. We can all see though, that significant seismic events can have potential relevance to us as investors.

Shifting of Earth’s Axis

According to several prophetic sources, seismic activity is building towards an impending planetary event (worldwide) – the shifting of the axis of rotation of the Earth, which some sources indicate is forecast to occur in the 4th quarter of 2012. The U.S. will obviously not be immune to this massive disaster. Ancient Hindu texts suggest this is a regular cyclical planetary event that has occurred roughly every 14,000 years. The pole shift may be triggered by a rogue celestial object that enters our solar system as part of a 14,000 year orbit. If this happens, prophecy suggests that a celestial object should first appear visible to us in the sky on a future June 21st (2012?) of that fateful year. Mayan prophetic sources also seem to suggest the 4th quarter of 2012 (December 21-23) is the likely timing (however triggered) for the actual pole shift.

There is forecast to be increasing seismic activity in the buildup to this worldwide cataclysm, both around the ring-of-fire region and also laterally along a seismic zone that includes Japan, China, India, the eastern Mediterranean basin, the Caribbean basin and the west coast of North America. Obviously the entire world will be effected if the seismic tempo picks up in frequency and intensity, let us for brevity’s sake focus on the potential effects in the U.S.

Ring of Fire

Save $200 on
The Hidden Pivot Webinar.

Offer extended through Friday (9/3).

For the U.S. there are several areas of future seismic concern. The west coast of North America is on the ‘ring-of-fire’ which rings the Pacific Ocean where several tectonic ‘plates’ interact actively, so the west coast is under seismic threat. The Yellowstone area is another area with massive seismic potential, the Mississippi river valley is yet another seismic zone and finally so is the eastern coast of the U.S. We have already entered an especially active seismic period for the next few years.

If we focus in on early this decade specifically, the sequence of events prophesied should include: another major seismic event still lies ahead in eastern Asia, this will be followed by a major seismic event in the eastern Mediterranean basin region (potentially Italy’s Mt. Vesuvius erupting?) foreseen to occur in winter in a future 1st quarter (2012?, possibly followed soon afterwards by another Caribbean seismic event).

West Coast Quake

This specific series of events will immediately precede the first mega earthquake long feared for the west coast – that long predicted event is prophesied for a future April/May in this very decade (2012?). That horrific west coast seismic event is said to be followed by a U.S. east coast counter balancing seismic event within roughly 90 days. (One disturbing vision was from a young man recorded in 1937, in his vision he says the California quake starts at 3:55 PM and runs continuously until 4:29 PM and completely destroys the California coastal region. Earthquakes are intense but brief, an extended earthquake would produce massive destructive power and a loss of life that could number into 8 figures).

Prophecy is not a science, so having sufficient specific facts in a scientifically acceptable format are unfortunately rarely received – however to dismiss and ignore prophecy totally is ignorance writ large. What this article attempts to do is to red flag a potential future danger that prophetic writings (from many sources and different locations and times) are seemingly pointing directly to – major seismic dangers for the U.S. and the world, coming early in this very decade.

Investors, Be Warned

If you do give any credence to any of this, it would be wise to be careful for yourself and any of your investments on either U.S. coast early this decade (2012?). You have been given a prophesied sequence of seismic events to watch for, even if you choose to wait to act – this scenario could amount to giving you a few days/weeks warning should any of the events begin unfolding (use it to make both yourselves and your investments safe). Major U.S. investments of concern would include such west coast industry stalwarts as computer technology, aerospace, defense, entertainment and food production. Personally I continue to seek safety in precious metals and their stocks and in cash. In 2012 I am planning to largely forego investing in any stocks anywhere – the events prophecy foresees will also generate far more trouble for all of us than even the earth changes. We are now living in interesting times – and that is a curse, not a blessing.

Rick asked me to make this a brief article, as that is all that I could commit to do. It would take a major thesis length paper to provide all the necessary background research to present it in a more academically sound manner (duly footnoted, with all the relevant research reading). I have neither the time nor the inclination to even begin that process. So basically this article Rick requested I write for his readers just gives you the ‘executive summary’ for your consideration. Carpe diem.

I’m a lot more concerend about the credit crunch and hyper inflationary responses.

End times prophecies have come and gone regularly for millenia and we’re still here. I’ve completely given up on the idea that there is much if anything to prophecy. I’m not totally ruling out the possibility that someone might see future events in some psychic sort of way, but trying to sort out the true visions–if any–from the charlatanism is hopeless IMO.

Melvill May 17, 2010 at 4:11 am

There is the distinct smell of “cancel the 2012 Presidential election for national security reasons” about.

Catman May 17, 2010 at 6:42 am

I agree with Tom P. Are we now to start trusting in “visions”. This article has no science in it whatsoever.

Yes, we should always be prepared for natural disasters, but no one can predict the future, especially in geological terms. As always IMHO.

Hunger. Civil War. Widespread. Ongoing. Warlords. Piratry. Ongoing. State failures. Ongoing. Eruptive barbarism. Ongoing, errand.
Settler/nomad contradiction. Capital flights. Ongoing.

Want more? Who needs mother nature on top?
But maybe she does just that. S**t on the money changers faces on top of all the self inflicted trouble.

We were told!

Well, if any of us survive this physically, and modern media sort of make it through into the netherworld, it will all be documented and then maybe there will be an anti money-changer gene.

:-)

The axis of rotation has been shifting constantly for eons on a 26,000 year cycle. What the author might have been thinking about is the possible imminent reversal in the MAGNETIC pole which has happened periodically. A drastic shift in the axis of rotation would be a wipe-out event for the human race a la the dinosaurs.

ricpent May 17, 2010 at 3:46 pm

Hey Dean, The last time I checked, cold-blooded, 50 ton reptiles, with brains the size of walnuts, had little ability to adapt. If a major event would occur, yeah, we’d lose a few people. Big deal! Earth has long since passed the point of sustainability. We are mining and pumping from the ground, those resources which took millions of years to create. Not right away, but sometime in the near future, we will stupidly use everything up, or pollute ourselves to death trying.

And you think precious metals will buy you food after the pole shift? LOL

mario cavolo May 17, 2010 at 11:15 am

…I am speaking to YOU NOW. I know you care, I know you ARE a good person and I know you feel you struggle more than others. You’re right you ARE special and you DO deserve more. But there is pain that you find so hard to shake away. You have almost found your purpose and you are special. I DO understand. And that person close to you with the alcohol problem HAS caused so much hurt, I know, I know and I DO understand this is YOU, isn’t it? If you can forgive them, it is so YOU will be freer, am I right? A change is due, don’t hesitate, yet realize to trust your inner sense and then let go. Yes, I know I know you intuitively, deep down and I am your friend the prophet psychic Mario the channeler of China spirit guides…

Oh sorry guys…I learned that cold reading schtick from a psychic hotline that was hiring a few years back…its amazing how its YOU, isn’t it?

And now that mother earth is indeed getting more aggressive these days, prophets start picking future dates and claiming fame…this is like the damn stock market guru advisors I read every single day claiming “I was right” when all you have to do is make a call and when you’re right you’re right!!! Thank you Nassim Taleb for “Fooled By Randomness”

Thanks Rick as always and cheers go all…I think a nasty few months is coming…

Whether or not , that is the main thing. I think you have a better chance with PM’s.

dturner May 17, 2010 at 9:37 pm

I agree on PM’s. I think the fact that gold and silver have recently detached from their negative correlations with the dollar is an indication of the strength of the ongoing bull market in PM’s. This is a good piece on that, and it discusses various miners that should continue to benefit from this trend:

Jack May 17, 2010 at 2:34 pm

I have been involved in metaphysical studies since 1974, and it has been my life long passion. I am a firm believer in psychic phenomenon. But even I know, from decades of experience with these subjects that anybody who publicly claims to be able to predict the future cannot. (I wish I had a dollar for every time………………………lol)

The Mayans, with their calender predicted several things that are demonstrably not true – such as the succession of kings prophecy. But lo! Not one in a thousand 2012 enthusiasts has actually read what the Mayans themselves said – instead they rely on what other westerners have said about it, or what their favorite psychics and “channelers” say about it, and/or what their New Age sub culture peers say. Those who do read from the source will find the Mayans predicted very mundane things, such as not as good a harvest, the sky goes dark for so many days, etc etc. They did not predict fabulous changes in consciousness or specific geographic changes.

ricpent May 17, 2010 at 3:19 pm

Hey Guys, Would you listen to yourselves? Get a grip! First off, does anyone know how far the Earth travels in one year? How about a “parsec,” ever hear of that? That’s what I thought! The idea that a comet comes by every 14,000 years and creates havoc is ludicrous beyond belief. Anybody can make predictions. The comet might come by, I’ll grant you that much. But, the Earth will be nowhere near the same location in it’s orbit around the Sun. Get a life!

P May 17, 2010 at 4:14 pm

Very gutsy of you to sponsor this, Rick. Kudos. Those who believe that other forces work in life will “get” what is being said; others will laugh. To me, it is interesting, and no worse than using fibo numbers. We’ll see.

GLENNH May 17, 2010 at 4:24 pm

I thought the world was supposed to end in Y2K. Darn I just sold my 27 kw Nissan generator last summer (Truth- needed the room in the garage). I have studies these things as I have a post graduate degree in the Geological Sciences as well as an engineering degree (ie how to design things to withstand and minimize the effects of these events) The frequency of storms, large waves, eruptions and earthquakes is chaotic, like everything in nature (including our behavior). These events are not changing, we just have more ’stuff” getting in the way of these high energy events, with most of this ’stuff’ paid for with borrow monies and or leverage. This is the reason why these things see so severe and the world is apparently coming to an end. In 1980 Mt St Helen barely disrupted air traffic (or the economy) even though it left an inch of ash on my car 2000 miles to the east. Did the world shut down. No. Shit happens, deal with it. These things are generally easier to deal with if we are not feeding 20 % of an economies taxation to service debt. For instance maybe you can maintain the dikes around a river instead of paying the bankers. Or build proper structures instead of cardboard houses designed for profit and a quick flip. Sorry Dude the world ain’t ending in 2012.

Larry May 17, 2010 at 4:29 pm

Please…no more Nostradamus stuff.

Although it’d be fun to watch California slide into the sea.

“Prophecy is not a science.”

No, it’s cosmic guesswork. Very mysteeeerious guesswork. Here’s something you can take to the bank…s*** happens.

Now prepare for that.

Rocky May 17, 2010 at 5:03 pm

What is the forecasting record of this SEER? All forecasts for past 20 years versus results. Without a documented record the predictions are just hype to get attention and website hits.

The response to this commentary has been so strong, Rocky, that I am going to run it for a second day. Enjoy! RA

Eva May 17, 2010 at 5:15 pm

This isn’t anything new, the Bible says this. The Bible doesn’t say the earth will have a pole shift, but it does say in the latter days “woe to the coastal cities”. Also, it says that the earth will be like a woman giving birth. Read the Bible if you really want to know what is going to happen.

Victor Laszlo May 17, 2010 at 5:45 pm

Yes, the earth is entering a ‘molting’ phase as is the local universe. This is part of an ascension process and we are part of it.
Meditate and become fearless and realize that we truly have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Peace.

JT May 17, 2010 at 7:11 pm

And now for my next trick…The world is coming to an end and this guy wants to help me with my investments? Kooky! Ok I’ll give it a shot. The winters will be cold, the summers will be hot, the earth will quake every now and then and tornadoes are going to rip through Kansas. How’s that for predictions? I’ve got $100.00 saying the world will not end on Dec 21, 2012. Any takers? Now moving forward who wants to make a post 2012 prediction? No one has gotten it right so they keep on moving the dates. “Uh did I say 2012?” I meant 2021 my mistake. Eva no offense sweetie but the bible was written by a bunch of sheep herders who had a lot of free time on their hands. The only thing that scares me is a new world government. YIKES That will be even bloodier then the Crusades and Inquisition.

mark May 18, 2010 at 2:40 am

“The bible was written by a bunch of sheep herders who had a lot of free time on their hands…”>>>>

If you want to try to criticize scripture, try doing five minutes’ worth of homework first.
You have just proven your ignorance of the bible and the folks that penned it.

BOB N. May 17, 2010 at 7:15 pm

First, Thank you to the writer who shared his “interpretations”, of upcoming events. Cycles do exist,as I’m certain most will agree. Seasonal cycles spring, summer, fall, and winter soltice for example. Many others to numerous to mention.

Nostradamous, Mayan, Supai Indians, Edgar Cayce, and of course, Book of John, from the bible, all attempt to use cycles to fortell future ‘Potential” events.

Dec 21,2012,the winter soltice, according to the Mayans, is a cumulation of a large cycle(Google Dec 21,2012 for articles if interested) Mayans called this point in TIME,the end of an age. Interpretation of what they intended to convey is open to discussion.

An interesting discourse, all of the above. Bottom line, better to try to prepare for the worse, and hopefully live through this cycle, and the next. Just a few thoughts from me.

Re BP the worst catastrophe ever, a little reality check by a geophysicist:

Say, has anyone noticed the further down the market goes, the more severe the hysteria?…

Stefan May 17, 2010 at 7:42 pm

Interesting article. There has been a rash of seismic events. My wife and I live in Puerto Rico and Sunday Night around 1:30 AM we experienced a 5.7 earth quake with the epicenter in Moca. We live in Isabela, located in the north west tip of the island. An exciting little shake rattle and roll for about 15 seconds. I doubt many people are even aware it happened, and I think these predictions deserve an awareness and acceptance that anything is possible.

Jason May 17, 2010 at 9:39 pm

The Mayans studied astronomical events. The calendar they developed, several thousand years ago, predicted every solar eclipse that we have observed in this century. They predicted where the moon would be today to an accuracy of 30 seconds. Any predictions of an astronomical event should not be dismissed, as these “pagans” were in possession of more knowledge than we.

2012 is also part of the prophecy of other cultures: Aztecs, Incas, Hopi and other Native Americans, I-Ching (China), Hindu, Tibetian, Egyptian, Mesopotamia civilizations, etc. Should we dismiss them so easily? Heck, 99.99999% of our recent ancestors believed that the earth was flat and the center of the universe.

Besides prophecy, there is evidence of natural disasters. K-T extinction of dinosaurs. T-J extinction of large amphibians, many marine animals. P-T mass extinction, lost all the mammal-like reptiles and many other species.

More recently, polar ice with algae frozen in it. Frozen elephants found with grass and tropical plants in its mouth and stomachs in Siberia (many were found in an upright position). Tropical trees and plants being dug up from the oil drilling in Siberia and Alaska. Seashells and remains of sea creatures found on the tops of mountains. Single ancient giant tree from a forest in prehistoric AZ/NM found on top of a mountain in Utah.

How did all the fresh water accumulate in the Great Lakes? The Great Lakes are the largest body of fresh water in the world (about 20% of all fresh water). One theory is that the previous north pole was located in Wisconsin. The Great Lakes formed from the melting of the previous polar ice.

Many sunken cities found in the Mediterranean and the oceans around the world. The Pyramids and Sphinx of Egypt have significant water erosion, but they are located in a desert. When the Greeks encountered the Egyptians, the Greeks asked the Egyptians what were the biggest challenges to them. The Egyptians answered that it was not the wars, but rather the natural disasters.

Polar caps of Mars are melting. Temperatures on Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn are increasing. Violent storms on Saturn. No SUVs there. The sun is getting hotter. Solar activity is peaking in 2011-2012.

Our solar system also passes through the galactic plane on a regular basis. The center of our galaxy is supposed to be a big black hole. So, passing through the plane may result in more encounters with rogue objects and gravitational effects. The center of the galaxy may also emit bursts of high energy radiation.

In 2003, there were rumors of a near miss with an asteroid/comet; as it was coming around the sun, a solar flare deflected it away from a potential collision course.

2012 or another time, natural disasters, big and small, have the potential of happening at moment. Ultimately, the survival of a species depends on a bit of luck. It has to have enough time to develop enough technology to survive the next “big” event.

BDTR May 17, 2010 at 9:52 pm

http://www.findyourfate.com/deathmeter/deathmtr.html

(Is this how it works, Rick?)

Benjamin May 17, 2010 at 10:15 pm

Roughly every 14,000 years? That would mean the last great disasterous era was 12,000 BC. The Sumerians were the first civilization, but weren’t around until about 4,000 BC. So we’ve not seen a full cycle, let alone many. The basis of the prophecy itself is shattered. We don’t have the time, though I suppose that is the problem isn’t it? I guess it all depends on how you look at it. We don’t have the recorded history by which we can test the accuracy of prophecy. So all bets are on until we do have sufficient evidence.

But what has become so special about 2012? Even those Mayans who understand their ancestoral calander have said that 2012 is merely when their calendar ends. Now, I have one of those reed calendars that have the next year printed on the back, which I keep in the kitchen. It ends in 2011. End of time or just time to buy a new calendar?

And in checking the records, the past couple years really don’t seem exceptional in any way, except that anxiety is on the rise concerning these things. No surprise there, though, as the whole system is melting down. People obviously don’t feel they are able to cope. Which is, imv, the point of this guest article. Things are unstable and since we’ve no record of the past (both natural and financially, perhaps) we investors need to… Well, gold and silver is a given, even without the potential for all hell breaking loose. Everyone should have at least some anyway. Heck, if we still had a bimetallic system, maybe there wouldn’t be so much insecurity and potential for panic as we have today, and 2012 would only be the year before 2013.

Rich May 18, 2010 at 6:29 pm

We have physical evidence of the past in biochemistry, carbon dating, magnetic orientations, rare elements, sedimentary layers, tree rings, watermarks on the Sphinx predating the Great Pyramid and the host of technologies geophysicists developed to show cataclysms were with us for billions of years.
Aristotle, Magi, Mayans and Tibetans knew the Precession of the Equinoxes/Yugas (26,000 years) around a central sun, Precession of the Ecliptic (70,000/100,000 years) and Precession of the Perihelion (ice ages) thousands of years ago that confirmed Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity. 2012, rather than the end of the world, may the peak of man’s full comprehension and manifestation of conscious energy, magnetism and matter as Earth, Pluto, the Sun and our galaxy align with the central sun of the universe….

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precession

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuga

Benjamin May 18, 2010 at 8:51 pm

Of course there’s always been cataclysmic events, just as certain as man himself is older than civilization. But prophesizing about them is an entirely different game than generalizing from known experiences. And the difference there is about the same as the difference as taking what (and when) happens on any one planet in the universe and comparing it to how planets revolve about the Sun. Apples and fish scales, my friend.

And while I’m here, I might as well rant to the general audience…

I’m an indian. The lineage of my father extends back to at least the glory days of the Aztec empire. As migration took it northwards, it mixed in with varying native blood. So while you’re all worshipping my general superiority in the weak pathetic shadows of your general inferiority, I have a few things to say about the superiority of indigenous peoples vs you white devi… uh, Europeans…

We indians never let a thing go to waste. Never mind the mass graves of buffalo found here and there over the years that shows otherwise. You westerners, by comparison, invented the cancer-causing hotdog that also uses everything (especially the cancer!). One would think this an odd thing. One might even say hypocritical. It’s okay to consider the indians to be saints for using everything, but not westerners? But we can explain it by simply stating that indians are superior at everything.

(poof) It is done! We indians are better!

And you Europeans are not only so out of touch with the earth that your feet practically levitate off the ground, but we indians had a seperate class called shamans because most of our people were too… stupid… Yeah, too stupid to guide themselves through the complexities of nature. We magical, mystical indian priests and shamans had to do it for them! So given that a lot of indians of the past and present day were apparently quite like ignorant white devils, not only did you invade our lands when you got here, but you also invaded them long before you got here because not _all_ indians were shamans in touch with the earth!

I hope I made my point. And yes, I AM SO an indian! As your god, I command all white liberal-guilted people to stop saying native American! That sounds like something one would here in a welfare office. It’s like being called a viking vs being called a native Scandinavian. Which would YOU rather be called? (and if you have a sack of family jewels, you’ll pick viking and indian any day!)

But I never said stop worshipping me so… Resume!!!

Oh and one more thing… Wanna know who is truly innocent and pure? The Bushman of the Kalahari desert in Africa. They don’t even have words for things like murder, war, theft, deceit, rape, etc. Plenty of indian languages do/did, though. And when it came to violating treaties among themselves and others, the indians were pretty much like any other of the human nature…

Hot-Headed Like Idiot: Who said we can’t cross this river?!

Humble Like Level 20 Paladin with 100 Hit Points and 18 Charisma: Big Chief Strongbow make treaty with white people on other side of river. We need to honor pact, or there be trouble…

Hot-Headed: That’s buffaloshit, man! If I wanna cross this river, I’m gonna cross this river! And just so you know, goody-two-shoes, I’m going to do this because my human nature isn’t any more special than anyone else’s!

Goody-Two-Shoes: Hey wait, look… Is that a white guy on our side of the river???

White Devil: Mwuhahaha!!! This is my side of the river! And I _hates_ clean rivers! So I think I’ll build my hotdog factory here and give everyone cancer!!! God, I can’t do anything right!

Indians are/were no different than anyone else, okay?!

But then again, perhaps that’s my white European bloodline speaking, and we all know how evil those Europeans are. But then again, my mother’s bloodline goes back into ancient Celtic culture. They were “more in touch” with nature, too. Probably why later on they were forced to work for a landlord, as peasant slaves, quite similar to how indians were forced to live on reservations. Those devils are always subverting nature-loving Avatars…

Okay, I’m done. All I humbly ask is that people _please_ knock of this superiority complex crap. And as your Mighty Aztec God, I say you better…

…or I’ll taunt your belief systems a SECOND TIME! (my mother is also part Python Era French ;-)

Gabe May 17, 2010 at 10:23 pm

Beware my friends of what was predicted two-thousands years ago:

” 3:3 Above all, understand this: In the last days blatant scoffers will come, being propelled by their own evil urges
3:4 and saying, “Where is his promised return? For ever since our ancestors died, all things have continued as they were from the beginning of creation.”
3:5 For they deliberately suppress this fact, that by the word of God heavens existed long ago and an earth was formed out of water and by means of water.
3:6 Through these things the world existing at that time was destroyed when it was deluged with water.
3:7 But by the same word the present heavens and earth have been reserved for fire, by being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly.”
(The Bible, 2 Peter 3:3-7)

Since its creation, the earth has suffered two cataclysms: Genesis 1:2 and Genesis 6-8. Therefore, what’s so strange about a coming final cataclysm before a new age? Why the doubts? Me thinks we are closer than what many people think.

Good article, Rick. You really show to have not only some guts, but also a nice intuition and good timing.

Gabe.

Thanks Rick for bringing light to the darkness…

It sounds like most commenters are of the `scientific` mind, which closes most of the doors of perception of the metaphysical. And since ´perception` is everything, they perceive prophesy as BS. I have been challenging EVERY belief system that I have with the question, `Do I `know´that this is true?´. EVERY belief system is only that, a belief that someone told you, whether it was your priest, professor or parent, was true. So either you `know´or you know that you dont `know´. I ask your readers to consider this: Do you `know´ that every prophesy is false? Then, how do you `know´?

Personaly, I am hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. The best being not so great from this view and the worst is beyond my capabilities to forsee, but my skills to survive will pull me through. Since it is already past the point of TEOTWAWKI(with bailouts of the banking system, AIG, and the govt running GM, etc), I am moving to a nice `quiet´ corner of the world to ride out the storm. Meditation will be my basis in truth and as I´ve posted here before, a handful of gold might just save my life.

Darkness is only an absence of light. Be sure to keep your light on and meditate on a world at peace.

NASA has been tracking a Red Dwarf star about the size of Jupiter but 80 times more dense since 1995. It is visible in the southern hemisphere (Australia) starting last year and should be visible in the US by the end of This year. You can Google it as Planet X, some have named it Worwood but who knows. From what I have read it should pass through our solar system in 2012. Seems to be timing out about right. The Mayans were probably here the last time it came through so they might have insight on how long it takes to complete one full orbit. I belive the early astronomers called it the 12th planet. At one time they think we had 12 planets in a binary solar system. I’m not an astronomer but that is what I read on the web.

I am astonished at the number of posts claiming something as fact because they read it on a web site somewhere.

The above claim that Mayans predicted the position of the moon today within 30 seconds? Perfect example. Nobody can give you the exact reference to the calender itself; they heard it from somebody who heard it from somebody who somewhere posited themselves as an expert in it.

It is all part of the trendy “throw in some sexy terminology and exciting ideas and call it truth” version of metaphysics to which “alternative thinking” has descended nowadays. I say this as a firm believer in a metaphysical description of the universe. I am in no ways a skeptic materialist, but disgusted with what has become of “Alternative” groups and movements.

Native people’s all over the world, not just the Mayan, believe this is coming. It happens every 26,000 years. The Mayan calendar ends in 2012 because it is the end of an era. Who do I believe, the people who live every day in concert with Mother Earth, or a bunch of stock traders who are focused on money and the weekend? Easy choice.

This is great stuff [full marks to the author] and is far better than reading about grown men salivating over lumps of yellow metal. Let’s be practical – remember Y2K? Remember how the publicity for this impending disaster built up over months before. From an “investment” point of view just think what a mania the mainstream press are going to revv up from about June 2012 onwards. If there is so much as small earthquake, a wave higher than 10 feet or 3 hurricanes in a month sometime during 2012 can you imagine what the mainstream press will be publishing? Just think of swine flu which didn’t even exist.

Who on earth is going to buy a Christmas present before Dec 21st 2012? The retail industry will be wrecked. What will be the point of planning a vacation before 2013? Will banks lend money [they are not now I know] – the bank might survive but the borrower might not! Conversely restaurants/pubs will do well on the basis of “let’s go out with a bang”.

And just out of interest if you gold maniacs anticipate that the possibility of this “disaster” on Dec.21st 2012 is rapidly going to ratchet up the price of gold how much will it be worth nights later when Rudolph is flying through bright clear skies over Wisconsin?

I have always wanted a good excuse for not buying my ex-wife a Christmas present; this might just solve my problem.

Geological time includes now!

I see a ray of light.
Germans are calmer than I expected.

Seems they are in for the deal to save for the rest of Europe, too, in the next years.
Wages must somehow be raised, also and on top – explicitly guaranteed by Trichet, Sarkozy et al. that this was it, then, and a no-debt principle is to be enforced into every Constitution, law and overall law in Europe: debt-ceiling for all, forever, once the worst is over.

This means, Germany accepts another Keynes round, but for that the debt ceiling is introduced everywhere and the ECB is basically becoming a Bundesbank.

Keynes now, and then Austrian economics thereafter.
Austerity is understood not to be general, but rather means a shift away from government spending to private and corporate spending.

UK dropped its resistance to the full regulation (transparency) of Hedge funds and other financial regulations without which Germany will leave the Euro. Everybody seems to be caving in.

Countries in heavy reconsolidation like Greece, Spain etc will be helped under curatel.
State spending is now being bartered down with full understanding not to slow the private markets.
Banker is something you ought not to be these days in Germany, huuu… New default regulations included.
I begin to hear the word Austrian economics more and more. Even a british guy put the dirty word into his mouth. Yea!

The concept, that no state ought to have debt at all is taking foot in Europe.

Military spending is the first and foremost sector getting a complete haircut. The German defense minister is putting all expenditures of military under curatel.
Military service was reduced to 6 months, yesterday.

Maybe we all make it, after all? Sounds like quite a new deal that´s developing there.

Oliver May 18, 2010 at 11:59 am

So it´s no more 750 billion all-in, but 750 billion plus Germany and their relentless savers all-in.
As there´s already the first signs of a crack-up boom developing.
The Unions agree, too. That´s the most amazing part, actually.
Something of a last round of “war-reparations” is being bartered for “never again”.
I hope, I interpreted this development somewhat correctly. Cheers.

The days leading up to the 4th quarter, 2012, I’ll be a seller of guns, generators and gold.

I lived in California for 25 years up until a couple of years ago. One of the many things that bugged me about Cali was how horribly unprepared they were for the next “big one”. Broke and actively encouraging good taxpayers to leave is no way to go through State life. It is an even worse strategy when you are nearly guaranteed of getting hit by a whopper earthquake imminently (0-25 years). At least in 1906 they were not saddled with massive debts before the quake and fire….
Detroit is knocking down 10,000 homes. hmmmm. Maybe that is the kind of rebuilding in the future. Why rebuild? So where are all those squatters in Detroit going to go, now?

In the writer’s own words: “I write this anonymously, and am writing it at Rick’s request.” …”Rick has asked me to outline the impact of potential future geological events on the U.S. economy.”

So, how does the author do and what do we learn from his assignment?

Again, in his own words, filtering out the “filler,” prophesies we have all heard many times since we were old enough to sign out a library card and limiting it to his assignment of forecasting the economic consequences, we are left with these few statements:

“….Combined, these major seismic events have cost hundreds of thousands of lives and billions in damages. The Icelandic volcano has so far just disrupted intercontinental air traffic, and so is negatively impacting the western developed economies.”

“….let us for brevity’s sake focus on the potential effects in the U.S.”
“…Investors, Be Warned”
“…it would be wise to be careful for yourself and any of your investments on either U.S. coast early this decade”
“…make both yourselves and your investments safe). Major U.S. investments of concern would include such west coast industry stalwarts as computer technology, aerospace, defense, entertainment and food production.”
“…seek safety in precious metals and their stocks and in cash.”
“…In 2012 I am planning to largely forego investing in any stocks anywhere”

If I am grading this homework assignment, he gets a D+. The only thing keeping this substandard essay from being an “F” paper was the fact that he made an effort to gather some supportive data (prophecies) and he turned his paper in on time. (giving Rick an additional well deserved vacation day).

So, the economic impact is what again??

The author would doubtless prefer to be graded solely on the accuracy of his forecasts, so I’d say give them some time. For what it’s worth, he asked for anonymity because he was genuinely concerned the world would come banging on his door if and when his predictions came true. RA

Early morning market strength fading.
Gartner said gold investors should rush for the exits and gold hit 1206.60 so far. Maybe the downtrend won’t move so fast this time, more a slow grating excruciating pain for those on the wrong side of hope for too long…

Philharmoniker silver bullion 19,70 € and 1 week delivery minimum.

Missed it by one year!

There is a religious sect that predicts judgment day somewhere between 5/21/2011 and 10/21/2011.

Me, I predict that the bottom of this bear market will hit in 2012 and it will feel like the end of the world.

Quote from Rick: “The author would doubtless prefer to be graded solely on the accuracy of his forecasts, so I’d say give them some time. For what it’s worth, he asked for anonymity because he was genuinely concerned the world would come banging on his door if and when his predictions came true. ”

If he’s right, who the heck is going to be left to come banging on his door?

Predictions like this have been around since the dark ages, perhaps even long before.

Skeptics have been around for just as long, and they have sometimes been proven wrong by events. RA

:-) But if a saurier species would have kept saying it, they would have one day actually been (almost) right.
