At 8:30 a.m. EDT today, US non-farm payrolls data will be announced, and more often than not, markets react sharply. If there were not so much going on in the financial world lately, we would expect this occasion, just before the Labor Day weekend, to be a non-event as far as trading goes. But that is the kind of expectation which markets have a tendency to punish.
