The staccato crackle of Black Cats is noticeably missing from the neighborhood this year, perhaps because so many of the kids have outgrown their fascination with fireworks. We’ll be barbecuing with relatives visiting from Seattle and Chicago, celebrating an almost Fourth-of-July birthday in the family, going to a Rockies-Dodgers game and dropping in on the festivities at Boulder’s Chautauqua.
