My immediate goal is to get short if the broad averages rally to marginal new all-time highs. Why would such highs be any different from those that have occurred routinely over the last six years as the bull market has worked its way relentlessly higher? Call it a hunch. When the biggest U.S. companies start reporting earnings in a few weeks, a very strong dollar is going to take an even bigger whack out of their bottom line than in Q4. A stock market trading in record territory is not only unprepared for this, it is acting with wanton recklessness. The time to get short is nigh.
