The stock market reminds me of 2008, when the bank stocks all looked like hell but collapsed so swiftly that even those who had half expected it did not necessarily profit. Now, the airlines, transports, homebuilders, shippers and even a few of the ‘lunatic’ tech stocks look like hell, and it is probably only a matter of time before they begin to plummet. But how much time? In the case of the airlines, no sooner had I put out a bearish yellow flag on the JETS ETF last week than it fell by nearly 10% in just three days. Obviously, a carefully measured approach to getting short risks missing the boat. The homebuilder stocks in particular look ripe for bearish speculation.
