How Are We About to Be Fooled?

Rolling overStocks have felt heavy for the last three sessions and look like they are about to roll over (see inset). If so, the weakness will have come with overbought readings flashing red and perhaps too many expecting a pullback. What is Mr. Market to do if he’s going to continue to fool most of us most of the time?  Two possibilities spring to mind: 1) an initially mild selloff that turns unexpectedly into a bottomless plunge; or 2) a resumption of October’s steep rally with only a moderate retracement.     This is the ‘Denial Period’, when was the last time in the last 40 or so years did you see, so many in the equity/debt sector seek and want ‘higher interest rates’?

    Interesting point, None. My friend Doug Behnfield, the savviest financial adviser I know, noticed this in a report to clients a couple of months ago that I made available to subscribers. RA
