With Super Tuesday, the moment of truth will arrive for a campaign season that kicked off the day after Obama was reelected in 2011. The news media have made Trump’s impending victory seem more or less inevitable, but is it? His initial appeal came mainly from his refreshingly blunt candor and political incorrectness, and from the fact that he won every round of ‘gotcha’ with a hostile press that was clueless at first about the reasons for his appeal. Now that Trump’s novelty has worn off with the most recent GOP debate, don’t be surprised if Rubio and Cruz do significantly better in Tuesday’s primaries than the punditry seems to expect.
While it is one thing to have cheered Trump for giving voice to the anger so many of us feel toward Washington and the news media, it is quite another to elect as our president someone who epitomizes the term ‘loose cannon’. Moreover, it is dangerous to assume that merely because Trump is a successful businessman, he can deal with the likes of Putin, Xi Jinping and the Ayatollah in a ‘business-like’ way. Playing hardball with these guys will pose far greater challenges than merely throwing one’s weight around in the real estate markets of New York City and Miami. It will mean carrying a big stick by maintaining a powerful military, and showing the willingness to use it if necessary.
Even if that is true of Trump, none of us even remotely knows how he would respond to a provocation from Russia, Iran or China. So far, Trump has said nothing that would give us confidence in his ability to handle these menacing global actors. To the contrary, he has shown himself to be a thin-skinned, opportunistic, vainglorious lout who casts every conflict, even petty ones, as grudge matches to be won at any cost.
Is this really the kind of person we want in the White House?

I do wish to offend 90 % of most Americans who are incapable of any critical or original thinking because their faces are perpetually buried in an I-phone hooked up to the propaganda agenda at Langley.

Both political parties are cesspools of corruption. The Clintons just seems to be floating on the bottom of the barrel. The Neocons want war as a way to distract from all their failed policies ala the Wolfowitz Doctrine.
Moreover, Sauders is the only logical choice if for no other reason that he wants to break up the big banks and restore Glass-Steagall.
Trump and Saunders have one thing right–they both recognize the huge amount of waste and fraud in the system.
Has anyone heard of geoengineering? It is costing this country tens of trillions of dollars even five years and yet it is “off budget”. Oh yes , it is also causing the drought in California over the past five years. As Gerry Brown sat at the Paris summit on global Warming babbling on about carbon emmissions he knew full well that the “chem trails” were in full swing in his state eliminating any potential for rain fall in his state for March 2016.

Trump? He ain’t your problem–Trump is a Trojan Horse to get Hitlery in–Wake up America and think out side the box.
You’ve got one last chance — Bernie Saunders may not be perfect but compared to Hitlery and her crew, he’s a saint.

I give up, Rick. What about Putin/Russia worries you? He has actually stepped pretty lightly on Georgia and Ukraine, and now has his full attention on Syria and Turkey. Which rather surprised me, but there it is. On the other hand, there’s two leaders that are clearly out to drastically change Europe: Recep Erdogan and Angela Merkel.
Seems things are shaping up for another WWI-style confrontation. Russia won’t take sides against us unless we insist on keeping Turkey in NATO. I don’t think Trump will stand with Turkey, nor turn a blind eye to the afore mentioned German/neo-Ottoman alliance. However, as I’ve maintained regarding Trump, I have no idea whether or not he’ll be able to change the direction of the country, let alone elsewhere. But that’s due to the Congress he would have to deal with…

Trump is about as the same and good as all of the past and future. Not a bit of difference.

Well, the first thing to realize, is that Trump almost certainly said all those over the top things in order to get FREE PUBLICITY!
The more outlandish his statements, the more the MSM news programs gave him FREE air time.
Of course, they were ripping him to shreds, but, as Trump knows, there is no such thing as bad publicity.
Especially when it is FREE.
So Trump played his cards extremely well.
He got his entire campaign off the ground, and spent very little to do it.
In addition, his outrageous opinions really played well down on Main Street.
So, he killed two birds with one FREE stone.
Now, he can start to spend money if he needs to.
Now, when he has a tremendous head start, he can begin to spend money.
My point is, Trump said all those off the wall things in order to get noticed, and to stand out from all the other candidates like Jeb Bush, who spent 100 million dollars to no effect.
It was all well planned, a flash-bang grenade to garner attention and FREE publicity.
He is not nuts, just calculating.
So, if he is on the ballot, I am voting for him.
If he can accomplish 10% of what he has been talking about, he will be the second coming of Dwight Eisenhower in my book.
But please no more Bush/Clinton family members!
The Clintons are already talking about Chelsea getting “Her Turn” as POTUS!

If I were Trump, I would make Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama my VP candidate.
He has been saying everything Trump is saying for years.

The Clinton’s are established scum actors of the liberal establishment. I look forward to their displacement by Donald “Teddy Roosevelt” Trump. And Rubio and Cruz don’t have a prayer to beat Clinton. Not wishing to offend any US citizens but, watching the election process is akin to watching a game show with all the superficial pranks and nonsense that ensues. If the US was a banana republic it’d be funny, the fact you’re the outgoing superpower makes it scary.
There is no way that the current candidates (including Donald the clown) can be the cream of US society.
Every empire that has ever existed eventually fails, there are 3 conditions that exist when failure arrives:
1. Excessive debt.
2. An over zealous military
3. Political implosion.

Rick, you maybe right in your assessment of the Donald, but my question to you is what makes you think any of the other candidates are stronger in the areas you laid forth. At least Trump is genuine enough to wear his feelings on his sleeve instead of the mealy mouth creatures we’ve dealt with for the past 8 years. I say out with the status quo.
I think it is a mistake to think that Trump will be a “loose canon” in the white house, although it’s easy to get that impression but what we have seen on TV, and the opposition certainly wants America to think that.
I think what is more indicative of what we can expect is how he runs his businesses, which appears to be smart and strategic. Trump relies on his executives for advice on many aspects of his business and makes decisions based on them. This sounds almost exactly like what a president does.
I thought liberals were suppose to promote change. To me Trump is change. My vote goes to Trump. , Ironically, I believe he will win big due to the cyclical protectionist quality of his speech. Just in time for him to self actualize, as the stock market collapses which in turn causes the New York real estate to plunge into 2020. By the time November comes around people will be voting with their wallets/handbags.

If it comes down to the lying termagant Hitlery Clinton vs. Donald Trump, I’ll vote for Trump and I won’t have to hold my nose to do it.

I would love to see Trump in the White House. He is a capitalist. The first president in years to freely admit it.
He has enough sense to think through a serious confrontation before making a decision.
Most people don’t realize how important being decisive is. Even if you make a mistake. The more decisions you make, the better you get at making them. If you make a bad decision, you find out faster by finding out (from the results) that you need to change your decision.
Trump knows this and practices it all the time.
