DaBoyz have turned the dogs loose on bears Sunday night, stoking a nasty short-squeeze in the index futures and punishing all who bought gold near the recent peak. Their pain will be cut short, however, at least temporarily, when U.S. markets recess for President’s Day. Wanna bet that not one college student in five could tell you which presidents the holiday honors?

The 1971 law has worked very well indeed…and as planned. Washington’s identity would be lost, since the third Monday in February would never fall on his actual birthday.

Rick, I would say that the percentage that could not name the Presidents honored by tomorrows PD is very close to the percentage that believe WWII stands for World War Eleven and that war had us allied with Germany to fight the Russians.
