The broad averages weren’t breathing hard enough on Thursday to fog the proverbial mirror. Look for the action  to slow down even more on Friday ahead of the three-day weekend. Although Christmas falls on a Sunday this year, the markets will be closed on Monday — and next Monday as well, since New Year’s Day also falls on a Sunday. The eight-day Jewish Festival of Lights, Chanukah, begins Saturday at sunset as well with the lighting of the first candle on the menorah.
