Wall Street Didn’t Even Flinch

Interesting times, for sure, but apparently not quite interesting enough to dampen the ardor of wildly exuberant buyers on Wall Street.  With patriots storming the doors of the Capitol and a reported shooting inside the building, the Dow Industrials still managed to finish the day with an immoderate gain of 438 points. Do the institutional chimpanzees who were doing most of the buying know something we don’t? More likely is that, because they get their news from MSNBC and the networks, they were ignorant of certain developments that could profoundly unsettle America. Read all three parts of this remarkable exposé  to understand just how serious the crisis could become. If you’ve been puzzled by Vice President Pence’s bizarre willingness to certify an election that he surely knows employed massive fraud to turn him and his boss out of office, the linked story provides a compelling motive.

In the meantime, don’t expect the patriots to go home any time soon. They blocked the certification of electoral results as intended, and they can probably do it again as long as they remain peacefully within the bounds of the First Amendment. Not surprisingly, the extent of the violence is being exaggerated to a brazen extreme by a news media that saw the torching of Portland as ‘mostly peaceful’. For his part, Trump was so forthright in telling them all to go home that the news media will have difficulty convincing even the most ignorant viewers that he incited violence.  If you want to better understand what is going on and what is about to unfold, listen to the news with a skeptical ear. They have been wrong about everything so far, and they will be just as wrong underestimating the extent to which the world-shaking events of the next few weeks were planned by the good guys.

    Rick, I read somewhere on this site yesterday about so many Jews being libs. I have three mysteries for you:
    1. The Jews are obviously a very smart race/tribe (whatever). So many scientists, philosophers, people of history are Jews. Why are they so liberal? Karl Marx, Hollywood, etc.
    2. Why are so many billionaires, who have achieved success because of capitalism/free markets, liberal? Maybe I’m finally with Elizabeth Warren: high income taxes and 2 or 3% annual tax on wealth. They deserve it.
    3. Why do so many conservative Supreme Court justices turn out to be libs?

    All difficult questions, Kerry. I have thought about them and have opinions, but it would take too much out of me to air them in this forum. RA

    At last one of the grown ups has rediscovered his balls, well done Mitch.

    Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, dressed in the kind of dark suit and tie that befits a funeral, was coming to bury Donald Trump, not praise him.

    “If this election were overturned by mere allegations from the losing side, our democracy would enter a death spiral,” McConnell said. “We’d never see the whole nation accept an election again. Every four years would be a scramble for power at any cost.”

    &&&&&

    Like half the country and 99.99% of the news media, you evidently are oblivious to the hearings Giuliani conducted in all of the contested states. Evidence of egregious fraud in all of them is mountainous and a thousand witnesses concretely documented many, many millions of fraudulent votes. Pretending it didn’t happen will destroy not only your hero McConnell, a political lifer who has turned cowardly at the worst possible time, but America itself.

      I suspect when the dust settles and the 0.01% of decent media left out there uncover those responsible for the violence, it will become sadly obvious to those suffering from Trump Love Syndrome, that in fact it was his own loyalists doing his own bidding that disgraced America in front of the entire world.

      &&&&&

      Not that this will have occurred to you, Pan, but yesterday’s violence on Capitol Hill was 100% Antifa. Trump supporters don’t act like that, nor do they wear sweatshirts with ‘antifaphilly.org’ embroidered on them

        Pan: I’ve disabled your link. You cannot simply post a link here without explaining what it shows. I am especially wary because it evidently comes from the BBC, a notorious soft-peddler of political cant.

        Rick: “nor do they wear sweatshirts with ‘antifaphilly.org’ embroidered on them.”

        Not that I’m doubting you, Rick, but there’s a good explanation why leftifa was there, whether or not they instigated anything. They could very well have been there to simply record and take pictures. Their versions of Andy Ngo, I guess. They knew a lot of angry people were likely going to explode — I and probably you as well are well aware of how tense the divides have become! — and they wanted to get it on their cameras, for obvious reasons. By now I’m sure you’ve seen them and the media having 1,000,000 field days because of this.

      Rick…. you’re so right, it’s not fair. Fair that you have to answer these comments with such overwhelming truth and accurate analysis will no doubt go unappreciated. You really ARE the man!! 🙂

      Thank you for the kind words, David. FWIW, I am about to become an apolitical man. I just canceled a subscription to the WSJ that I’ve had for 25 years, and I turned off TV news. I’ve already experienced a significant reduction in stress. Instead of Tucker, I’m watching American Ninja Warrior, a terrific show that features great athletes who are undoubtedly light years removed from the political bullshit that impacts our lives. RA

    “Not surprisingly, the extent of the violence is being exaggerated to a brazen extreme by a news media that saw the torching of Portland as ‘mostly peaceful’.”

    I’ll never say that what happened yesterday was anywhere near what the left has done, but it was hardly a moment to be proud of.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkTzdubV6J4&bpctr=1609983874

    It’s a nearly three hour stream, but the “highlights” are at the beginning…

    various points: lots of broken glass, breaking of glass, repurposing of barricades, etc
    4:10: fighting with police! Who thought this was a good idea?!
    ~10:35: man brandishing rifle (which is probably why the woman next to him got shot by Capitol police; she died, btw).

    The whole stream isn’t full of such video and pictures of course but there’s ample amounts of it in the first part. Anyway, if Pence really was in against Trump– and he apparently was, going by the link you posted, Rick — then they all got the reaction from Trump supporters that they were hoping for. Because now that the country has seen all this — from the MSM or cellphone videos — Trump has pretty much lost any chance he had of ever reversing the crooked results of this grand theft election. Thank a patriotic hot-head. Or Mike Pence. Or a disguised leftifa. Whichever.

    It’s over now.

    &&&&&

    The violence was very obviously instigated by Antifa scum salted into the crowd, Ben, although this has not even been considered by the derelict MSM.

      It wouldn’t be the first time leftifa pulled something like this, Rick, but it would be the first time (that I’m aware of) that they did it on this scale. For that reason alone, I’m not so sure it was them. They don’t have the mental and psychological capacity to operate on that level. Then there’s this Exhibit A…

      I’ve since learned that the woman who was shot is a four tour combat veteran. Impressive, and a shame she lost her life yesterday, especially in that kind of situation. I doubt someone of her experience would have been foolish enough to take part in any instigation on leftia’s part. But if she was, then she also demonstrated very poor situational awareness, at many points. And poor discipline, especially for a soldier. Sean Spicer says it best (skip to 4:08 – 5:05)…

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvJsHnOaqvQ&list=WL&index=78&t=425s

      A good soldier and patriot would’ve had the discipline and respect for our country to give the legal and Constitutional process a chance.

      No, it just doesn’t add up… unless she believed that what she and everyone around her was doing was right. So she’s either leftifa herself (extremely unlikely!) or she and everyone or almost everyone around her are just regular people. Very angry people — extreme anger can drive a person to do things they normally would not — but regular people nonetheless.

      &&&&&

      I’m not persuaded, Ben. There is no reason the woman or any of the Trump supporters would necessarily have known Antifa scum had heavily infiltrated the throng. In retrospect, it would have occurred to them, if not to the wilfully blind, ignorant news media, that patriots do not behave like Antifa/BLM thugs; it’s just not their style. RA

    Hey Rick. I’m an independent. I think both parties are very troubled. You have some very strong views. Generally in my experience, there are two sides to an issue. One of the biggest problems we have is nobody listens to anybody that Doesnt espouse exactly the same views they have. You seem like a very good guy but a very passionate guy. Its your site and it’s your business and you can do it anyway you want to do it. But I don’t think morality plays typically ever accomplish anything other than making people feel good about whatever position they might have. Cheers. Kerry.

    Thanks for you unusually civil note, Kerry. Yes, I do have some very strong views, and it is no coincidence that I chose a path in life that has allowed me to editorialize them. Regarding the election fraud, evidence of it is so clear that my “strong view” is that anyone who refuses to believe it happened is mentally ill. After observing my liberal friends during the Trump years, I have concluded that Trump Derangement Syndrome is an actual, clinical disease — one so powerful that it has overwhelmed their rational judgment. I am not just saying this, by the way — I sincerely believe it. RA
